Human Participants Training and Education Requirement
According to a federal mandate on human participants protection training, all investigators and key research personnel involved in research with human participants must complete a training program if the research is supported by the DHHS (list of agencies). Some of these agencies have affiliated institutes, offices, or centers. For example, over 20 affiliates fall under the jurisdiction of NIH (list). There is an initial and ongoing training program for all investigators and
key research personnel involved in human participants research. "Key research personnel" refers
to anyone who has contact with human participants, designs a study that will
be conducted on human subjects, or has contact with identifiable data of human
subjects.
Recertification must occur every two years

Many of the examples at this site are biomedical. Choose the "Register" link on the lower right-hand side, create a username and password, login, and select the course entitled, "Human Participant Protections Education for Research Teams."
Certification:
Please submit to the IRB chair a signed and dated statement that indicates you have completed one of these tutorials. Some of these sites provide certification documents.
